Seeing digital commerce differently
During a visit to China, Francisco saw online payments and ecommerce already changing how customers discovered, purchased and paid for products.
Our story
Hi Pharmacy did not begin as a general software agency searching for a healthcare niche. It grew from real pharmacy ownership, a belief in connected commerce and the decision to build what existing platforms could not provide.
Where it began
The idea was not born in a boardroom. It came from seeing how quickly a small business could grow when technology made it easier for customers to participate.
During a visit to China, Francisco saw online payments and ecommerce already changing how customers discovered, purchased and paid for products.
On returning to China, a once-small supplier had become a substantial company. When Francisco asked what had driven the growth, the answer was simple: ecommerce.
Back in Queensland, Australia, Francisco began operating a pharmacy and set out to create a better way for a pharmacy business to work online.
After testing multiple ecommerce platforms, he found that none was specialised for pharmacy or designed around Schedule 2, Schedule 3 and Schedule 4 requirements. He brought together an engineer, a programmer and a designer to build his own.
The first platform
Pharmacia China gave Chinese customers a way to order Australian healthcare products online from Queensland. At its busiest, the store attracted more than 10,000 visits a day.
More importantly, it showed that a pharmacy business could reach customers differently when commerce, communication and operations were designed as one connected experience.
From ecommerce to connected care
COVID accelerated the need for pharmacies to serve patients digitally. We began helping other pharmacies and expanded into telehealth, electronic prescriptions and the systems connecting patients with healthcare teams.
Returning to China
In 2026, Hi Pharmacy was invited to Haikou, China, to present its work integrating telehealth and electronic prescription workflows for healthcare businesses such as Pharmacia. The Haikou Entrepreneur Centre recognised the company as a valued overseas organisation in the health technology sector.
Why our history matters
Our perspective begins with customers, prescriptions, pharmacy teams, fulfilment and the reality of operating a healthcare business.
The first platform began because conventional options did not fit. That same thinking guides every organisation we work with today.
From ecommerce to telehealth, eScripts, specialised workflows and responsible AI, our capabilities have grown through practical work.
Your idea may be the next chapter
We will begin by understanding the organisation, the people it serves and the work behind every interaction.
